My Combine Experience
Mar 6, 2007

First and foremost the combine was another great experience for me. I was honored to be able to go there and participate in it. When I arrived one of the first guys I ran into was Troy Smith. It was nice to be there and get to meet with guys like that. It was amazing because we were all working together trying to push each other to reach the same goal. But at the same time, we were actually competing against one another.

Probably the toughest day was when we had the medical examinations. I was constantly in and out of the hospital getting checked out head to toe. We spent most of the day waiting to get MRIs and Xrays. You sit there and hear doctors saying words that you don't even know to other doctors and the team doctors. But that was just one of those experiences you have to go through at the combine.

One of the areas I felt most comfortable with was the psychological testing. It was another area that we competed in. It wasn't physical testing, but its an opportunity to show the teams that you are a sharp guy. They had alot of neat tests that I really enjoyed doing. I don't know what my results were yet, but I feel as though I did very well.

I had some really good interviews at the combine. I met with 25 of the 32 teams there. It was pretty neat to get to meet all of the head coaches and owners of the teams. I just went in there and tried to show those teams who I was in the short period we had. Many of the teams seemed interested in me. They saw that I'm a person of good character with high integrity, as well as an outstanding player on the field. That combination is real attractive to teams. Some of the teams I felt very comfortable with were the Jaguars and Falcons. There were times when you felt that a particular team probably wasn't going to draft you, but even then the coaches were really good about giving you advice.

As far as the actual workouts go, I didn't do a full workout, but I did participate in most drills. First of all I went out there and tried to show everyone that I was well-conditioned. I just worked hard, competed, and tried to do the best I could. On the bench press I got up 17 reps of 225 pounds. I ran a 4.68 in the 40. I had a 31 inch vertical leap and a 10 foot broad jump. I'm going to do my three-cone and my shuttles at my pro day which is tomorrow. For the positional drills I was able to workout at both defensive end and outside linebacker. I felt as though I did well at both positions.

Overall the combine was great. It was another amazing experience for me, just like winning the National Championship. Tomorrow is my pro day. I'm just going to go out there, work hard again and hopefully get closer to my goal of being drafted in April.

Preparing for the Combine
Feb 1, 2007

Well we won the National Championship this year. It was really something special to be a part of. We put in alot of hard work this year and it was good to see it payoff for the team and the University. It was a dream come true and something that not everyone has the opportunity to experience. Since we had so much success, winning both the SEC and the National Championship, I felt like this was a good way to go out. I had a good time in Florida the past four years and I felt as though it was just my time to move on. My coaches, friends, and most importantly my family supported my decision to leave leave Florida and it felt like the right thing to do this year.

Since I decided to enter the draft, I've been down in Orlando training with Tom Shaw. I'm with a great group of guys down here who are going through the same thing I am right now. Right now I'm at 6-6 253, so I'm trying to put on some weight. I'm on a pretty strict diet. I have a chef that prepares three meals each day for me to help accomplish my goal. Our daily workout usually starts around 10am. We go outside and do drills and some running. Then around 12 or 1 we break for lunch. We return around 4pm to workout with weights. It's a full day being around the facility with the other players and the coaches. I'm working hard and this is basically what I'm going to be doing up until the combine.
