Draft week
Apr 23, 2008

I just flew back home to Arlington, Texas this evening. There hasn't been a whole lot going on this past week. I've mostly just had different teams calling to make sure they had the correct number for me for draft day. They just want to be sure they have all the correct information for you. I had alot of calls this week for that. My plans this week are to maybe play some golf and do some bowling. I'm going to spend draft day at home with my family. It's finally about to happen. My dream is about to come true and I'm just happy that I'm in this position to get drafted.

My trip to Philly
Apr 16, 2008

I visited with the Eagles last week on monday. It went very well. They took me on a tour of the facility and I got to meet with the coaches. I had the opportunity to talk to coach Andy Reid for awhile. We discussed how I fit into their scheme and everything. Overall it was a nice visit. As of now I don't have any other visits scheduled yet. Other than that, I've changed my mind on what I'm going to do for the draft. I'm going to head back home to Arlington, Texas so I can spend that time with my family.

Balancing school and workouts
Mar 26, 2008

I have a couple of possibilities when it comes to indvidual workouts with NFL teams. It's possible that the Broncos and the Browns could come to my facility and work me out but I haven't found out for sure yet. I'll start making my trips in April. I'm finishing up school this semester so in addition to working out I've been taking mid-terms and just trying to balance the whole draft process and finishing up my degree. I'll check back in a couple weeks and hopefully have an update on my NFL team workouts at that time.

My Pro Day
Mar 12, 2008

I participated in the Pro Day at Cal yesterday. I finished with a 4.55 40, a 6.91 L-Cone, a 4.2 short shuttle, 9 foot, 9 inch broad jump, and a 31 inch vertical. I felt like I could've done better in the 40 but overall I thought it was a decent day. There were a lot of NFL teams in attendance. The Bengals running back coach was there. He worked me out individually after I finished all of my running back drills. It went well. The drills were good and I was worn out by the end of the day. I've already scheduled a visit with the Eagles on the 7th of April. That's all I've got so far but I should have some more information when it comes to individual visits with NFL teams next week.

The combine experience
Mar 5, 2008

The Combine was another level of the senior bowl. With all the guys looking at you, evaluating you and asking you all types of questions. You’d be walking around and people will just grab you and take you places trying to talk to you. You weigh in and just go out there and try to do your best. I was able to do pretty well at both of the things I participated in. It was a fun experience just to meet all of those people. I did the bench press, the three-cone and the positional drills. The rest I will be doing at my pro day next week.

The medical portion was definitely a tough process with doctors there trying to poke at you. They twist your body in different ways and try to hurt you to see if anything is wrong with you. I had to do one MRI but I didn't have any injuries in college so it wasn't as tough on me as it was for some of the other guys.

When it comes to the mental testing, you only get 12 minutes to finish the wonderlic but it wasn't too bad. I don't know what my score was yet but I felt as though I was well-prepared for it.

I felt very comfortable with the on the field drills. When it comes to running back drills I felt very at ease with it. I just went out there and did what I've been doing my entire life.

I was able to meet with about half the teams in the league at the combine—The Eagles, Broncos, Seahawks and Bucs to name a few. I met alot of people. All teams I met with seemed to show the same amount of interest but there were some teams that knew more about me than others.

Overall the combine was a great experience for me and I’m looking forward to the next step in the process which is my pro day next week.

After the season...
Mar 5, 2008

After the season I went down and trained at the All-Sports facility in San Antonio, Texas. I worked out with Barry McClinton and Priest Holmes down there. I just wanted to sharpen my skills, get ready for testing, and just work on my football skills. I really focused on getting ready for the testing I would go through at the combine and pro day. I did two a days down there that consisted of training, lifting, and running. I was working out with other players that are trying to do the same thing as me. At the same time I'm finishing up my last semester at Cal so this is a very challenging time for me.

In January I had the opportunity to participate in the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. It was exciting just to go out and show them that I could compete with other talented players— high level skill guys and to show that I could be successful at it. It was a great opportunity for me to meet people and show what I can do.
