Now that the Senior Bowl, All Star Games, and the combine are over, we have a great idea of who the top 100 players are. The Pro Days are still to come, but those rarely hurt players and only a few players have a chance of improving their spots. The Top 100 basically represents the players who will be selected on the first day in rounds one thru three.

Falcons will pick third in NFL draft

The Atlanta Falcons won a three-team coin toss on Friday for the third overall pick in this April's NFL Draft.

In a ceremony held at the league scouting combine in Indianapolis, Atlanta (4-12) secured the pick by winning a toss of the coin with the Oakland Raiders (4-12), who will have the fourth overall selection.

The Kansas City Chiefs (4-12), who finished ahead of the Raiders in the AFC West division based on a better record against common opponents, will pick fifth.

The majority of the NFL's 32 teams only keep one kicker. That along with the fact that many veterans are kicking into their late 30's and sometimes early 40's makes place kicker one of the toughest jobs for a rookie to land in the NFL. Each year a couple rookies make it. This year there are several good prospects who have a shot. One such prospect is former University of Wisconsin kicker, Taylor Mehlhaff. The senior linebacker finished third on the team in tackles this past season with 90 tackles after leading the team with 92 stops as a junior. MU’s Tony Temple drops appeal, will enter draft

Tony Temple has played his last football game as a Missouri Tiger. He dropped a last-chance appeal at another year of college eligibility with an eye on the 2008 NFL draft.

“I feel good about looking into the extra year,” Temple, the former Rockhurst High running back, said in a release through Mizzou on Tuesday. “It was worth a shot, but I don’t want anyone spending any more time on it, and I feel I’m ready to take the next step.”

Temple ended his four-year run at Missouri with 281 yards rushing and four touchdowns, both Cotton Bowl records, in a 38-7 runaway past Arkansas. But his debut with the Tigers wound up costing him a complete season of eligibility.
