The team practiced in shorts and helmets today so there wasn't much contact. Most of the NFL team scouts have left town, but we are still here. Here are some of our observations from today's practice:
Kevin Kolb - Displayed good mobility, getting out of the pocket and running with the football. He scored a touchdown on one of his scrambles. Jordan Palmer - Made some nice throws in redzone drills. Chris Leak - Made some nice throws moving the team down the field in the two minute offense. Read More From: On the Clock Draft North Team Practice Report - Thursday

Today the team practiced in helmets and shorts, so there wasn't alot of contact. The majority of the NFL team scouts left town this morning, but we are sticking around until the end. Here is what we were able to get from today's practice:
Tyler Palko - Fumbled on a playaction in 7-7 drills and fumbled a snap during the scrimmage. Ran the two minute drill well. Coach Gruden made a comment about him having problems with his elbow. Drew Stanton - Coaches praised him on his playaction fakes. He had an ugly deepball that was underthrown early on in practice, but he threw a nice 40 yard pass later on during skeleton drills. He was accurate with his short to intermediate range passes. Troy Smith - Fumbled a snap during 7-7 drills. Looked better in the scrimmage, but he took too many chances over the middle during redzone drills. He threw an interception over the middle today, having thrown one yesterday as well. Chris Leak - Wasn't as accurate as he was yesterday but he had a nice, tight spiral on his passes.
Kenneth Darby - Had a good day as a receiver, catching nearly every pass that came his way. He also displayed good speed, breaking a couple long runs to the outside during the scrimmage. Kenny Irons - Had problems catching the ball, dropping several passes as a receiver out of the backfield. He broke several nice long runs and still appears to be the best pure runner on the South squad. La'Ron McClain - Big, strong fullback who displayed solid hands as a receiver out of the backfield. Tyler Palko - Continued to display poor arm strength. He rolled out of the pocket alot during the scrimmage, but he was touched down by the defender each time. Even though he got the passes off, they would've been sacks in a real game.
Troy Smith - Wasn't very impressive today. He fumbled multiple snaps and threw an interception in the scrimmage. Thomas Clayton - This was his first practice having replaced the injured Garrett Wolfe. He was the most impressive running back for the North team. He displayed good speed and quick feet, breaking several long touchdown runs to the outside. He did have a fumble in the scrimmage and he dropped a touchdown pass in the redzone drill. Brian Leonard - Displayed surprising speed, breaking a couple long runs to the outside. He broke alot of tackles along the way. Tony Hunt - Had a couple nice runs to the outside but he didn't run well between the tackles at all. Read More From: On The Clock Draft Senior Bowl: South Team Practice Report

Jordan Palmer - was inconsistent passing the ball and he fumbled a snap in the scrimmage.
Chris Leak - was accurate and had a nice tight spriral on his passes, but he measured in at just under 6-0 and he lacks great arm strength. Kevin Kolb - was accurate on short routes but his accuracy went down the further down the field he threw. A couple of his deep balls sailed over the receiver's heads.
