Undrafted Analysis
Recently Alex Barron became just the seventh two-time consensus All-American in Florida State history. He is the only offensive lineman in that group. He has an excellent combination of size and athleticism at the tackle position. He has long arms and a good frame with room to add strength and bulk. He has the quick feet you look for in a left tackle and is the best pass blocker in the draft, only giving up one sack as a senior. Injury problems could be a cause for concern with Barron. He had to resdshirt his freshman year due to a knee injury and has had numerous injuries since then. In the past four years, Barron has had a broken hand, shoulder surgery, and knee surgery. He needs to improve his run blocking skills and he lacks the “mean streak I like to see in offensive linemen. Since he has missed some time due to injury, he still hasn’t reached his full potential and he has a great deal of upside. He is not a Jon Ogden, Orlando Pace or Walter Jones type of prospect, but he is the best prospect in a weak year for offensive tackles. He will be a first round pick in April. Player News Feed
