Ciatrick Fason is only a junior who opted to leave school early and enter the 2005 NFL draft. He would've benefited from staying in school one more year and would probably be drafted higher in 2006. Fason is a family man with a wife and two children, which is the primary reason he decided to forgo his senior season at Florida. The scary thing about Fason is the fact that he has only been a full-time starter for one season. I do like the fact that he only has about 300 career carries, leaving a lot of rubber on the tires. He has proven to be an extremely durable player, not missing a single game in college. In 2004 he became just the 7th back in Florida history to reach the 1,000 yard rushing mark, joining former Florida Gator and current NFL backs Emmitt Smith and Fred Taylor. He has good size and excellent speed. He hits the hole hard and has the ability to take it the distance from anywhere on the field. He has good hands out of the backfield, but he needs to work on his blocking technique. Fason is one of the most complete backs in the draft this year but lack of experience will most likely hurt his draft position. His upside and all-around ability cannot be ignored and should make him a solid 2nd round prospect. Player News Feed
