Analysis

Eli is the best pure pocket passer in the draft. He\'s the son of Archie, the brother of Peyton, so his incredible bloodlines are well-known. He has very sound technical skills, possibly the best in the nation, and better than almost all current NFL starters. He is very similar to his older brother in terms of pocket presence and field awareness. He\'s a bit more athletic than Peyton, who claims Eli, unlike the rest of the family, can easily dunk a basketball. His forty time is estimated at around 4.9, but he\'s more mobile than Peyton. He can throw on the run, and can on occasion catch the defense napping and get up the middle for the first down. Although he is more mobile than his brother, Eli is no scrambler. He\'s a pocket passer first and foremost. He has good, natural leadership skills and is an intelligent player at the line; he\'ll pick up audibles and defenses on the pro level in a snap. He has good, not great, arm strength. He can make all the throws, but his arm is not elite. Some question his accuracy on the deep ball.

Overall, Eli is a solid, can\'t-miss type prospect. While he\'ll probably end up a vanilla player, he should quickly become an extremely solid NFL starting quarterback.
