Eric Green is a fifth year senior with a great deal of starting experience for a major college football program. He got off to a great start as a freshman, intercepting four passes and leading the team with 12 pass break ups on the year. He tore his ACL prior to the 2002 season and sat out the year as a medical redshirt. He bounced back with three interceptions in 2003, averaging over 55 yards per interception return in 2003, including two that went for touchdowns. He has a good combination of size and speed for a corner. He ran a 4.43 40 prior to his injury and a 4.49 a year later. In coverage he displays good recovery speed and ball skills. He needs to improve his technique and become a more physical player. He is a solid run defender and has also been a very productive special teams player, blocking several key field goals and punts in his career at Virginia Tech. Eric Green is an extremely talented cornerback but is still a little raw when it comes to technique. With proper coaching, he could become a very good starting corner in the NFL. He is a solid third round pick who could go as high as the second round on draft day. Player News Feed
