Analysis

Eric Henderson has a great deal of experience, having started at defensive end for the Yellow Jackets since the 2002 season. He is a tough player with a pretty good combination of size and strength for the position, although he does lack ideal height. He isn’t a one-dimensional end—he is a great run defender and a pretty good pass rusher as well. He has a quick first step which allows him to beat most offensive tackles off the snap of the ball. He sheds blocks well and makes a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage. He is a very instinctive player with a non-stop motor. He could use some improvement on his pass rush technique. The biggest area of concern for Henderson is his durability—He missed seven starts due to injury over the past two seasons. Eric Henderson is a solid all-around defensive end who will drop some due to durability issues. He should be a mid-round pick on draft day.
