Fred Gibson has had a very productive career at the University of Georgia when he has been healthy. He came in as a freshman and set the school single-season record for 100 yard games with five and also led the team in receiving yards that year. He has good height and speed but he may need to add some bulk and become a more physical player in the NFL. He has a good vertical leap and long arms which allow him to go up and get jump balls. He is a good open field runner and does a good job of getting yards after the catch. He has had injury problems which have slowed him down over the course of his career and he has been inconsistent at times, not always playing up to his ability. Overall he has pretty good ball skills but he will make an amazing catch, then drop one that hits him right in the hands. He needs to work on being a more physical receiver and improve his route running. He has shown the ability to be an effective return man during his time at Georgia. He has 35 career returns for an average of just under 25 yards per return and one touchdown. Fred Gibson is one of the most talented receivers in the draft. Durability concerns and inconsistency may hurt his stock. I expect him to be selected anywhere from the late second to early third round. Player News Feed
