Garrett Cross is an inexperienced tight end, having played less than two years of division I level football. He began his career at Butte Junior College, where he played with Aaron Rogers and totaled 39 receptions, 590 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2002. He was on his way to a good first season at Cal in 2003, until he suffered a season ending leg injury in mid-November. At 6'5" cross provides a very big target, but he needs to add bulk and increase his strength to be more of a factor in the running game. He runs very good routes and has excellent ball skills. He lacks great speed for the position, but he has the ability to make plays down the field and he does a good job of getting yards after the catch. After missing a good portion of his junior season due to injury, durability is a concern for Cross. He is a decent blocker, but needs to get bigger, stronger, and improve his technique to be an effective blocker at the professional level. He is a one-deminsinal player at this point and looks to be an H-back in the NFL. Garrett Cross is a player that has been on the rise as of late, with good workouts he could be a solid first day draft pick in April. Player News Feed
