Analysis

Garrett Mills is a very versatile player who played tight end, fullback and H-back at Tulsa. During that time he has been a very durable player, having not missed a single game due to injury in four year career (50 games). He is also well-known for his outstanding work ethic. He is an intelligent player who received all-academic honors each of his four years at Tulsa. He is an excellent receiver who holds the longest current streak for consecutive games with a reception for a tight end, catching at least one pass in each of his final 40 games. He runs good routes and has outstanding hands, but he lacks ideal size and speed for the tight end position. He is also a very good blocker who excels at blocking in space, but he is an unknown quantity as a runner. Garrett Mills lacks the size and speed you look for in a tight end and will most likely play fullback or H-back at the professional level. Garrett has all the intangibles you look for in a football player and his pass catching ability would make him an excellent west coast offense fullback. He should be a second day pick in the 2006 NFL draft.
