Analysis
Greg Olsen has been the starting tight end for the Miami Hurricanes for the past two seasons. He has a good combination of size and strength for a tight end. He is a hard worker and a person of outstanding character. He runs precise routes and has great hands. He catches the ball with his hands, rather than his body, and he does a good job of getting yards after the catch. He has enough speed to make plays down the field and his combination of size and athletic ability makes him a great target in the redzone. Olsen is an above average blocker, but he still could improve in that area. He would benefit from bulking up and he does have the frame in which to do so. He does have some durability questions with a shoulder injury that caused him to miss the 2003 season and a broken wrist that forced him to miss three games the following season. Greg Olsen will look to follow in the footsteps of former Miami tight ends such as: Bubba Franks, Jeremy Shockey, and Kellen Winslow. He has the talent to become a pro bowl player and could be as good if not better than the other former Miami tight ends. He should make an immediate impact for the team that selects him and he could go as high as the first round in the 2007 NFL draft.
