Undrafted Analysis
Jared Lorenzen is one of my favorite quarterback prospects in the 2004 draft, because as a college player he was simply so fun to watch. Looking bigger than his linemen, it was terminally enjoyable watching him lumber onto the field and whip his strong left arm into action. In action for the Wildcats, he was more mobile than his considerable bulk and subpar forty time indicate. He needs to lose weight for the NFL. That much is obvious. His passing skills are good, but he needs to improve his decision-making. He carried a below-average team to wins--and near-wins--that they otherwise would not have had, but he also made his share of stupid mistakes. If he slims down, it's my opinion that his mobility will improve greatly, making him something of a threat on the ground. So in the end, although it'll take some time, I think Jared Lorenzen could become a good NFL player. Player News Feed
