Analysis
John Torp has a good deal of experience and has been one of the most consistent punters in the nation over the past three seasons. He is a left-footed punter with a strong leg. He adjusts well to poor snaps, gets the ball off quickly and has good hang time. He is good at directional kicking and has been successful on fake punts, showing the ability to run or throw when asked. He is very intelligent and is a very hard worker. At senior bowl practices he would sometimes continue to practice his punting after practice was over. He was a bit inconsistent at practices in Mobile. He would kick several punts in the 50-60 yard area, then kick a short one off the side of his foot. John Torp is one of the best punters available and could be the first punter selected in the 2006 NFL draft. Player News Feed
