Josh Bullocks is a three-year starter who has been a fixture in the Cornhuskers’ starting lineup since his redshirt freshman year in 2002. He has a pretty good combination of size and speed for a safety and the range to make plays all over the field. He has excellent coverage skills and has proven to be a true “ballhawk during his time at Nebraska. As a sophomore in 2003, Bullocks broke Nebraska’s single-season record for interceptions in a season with ten, crushing the previous record of seven. Ten interceptions in a season is was also a new Big XII conference record as well. In coverage he has good hands, gets a good break on the ball, and has excellent recovery speed. He can be overaggressive at times in pass coverage, going for the interception when he shouldn’t. This can lead to a big play for the defense or an even bigger play for the offense. He is a decent run defender but you would like to see him be more aggressive in that area. He is an intelligent player and a true “student of the game, who puts more than his share of time in studying film. Josh Bullocks has all the tools you look for and the ability to be a very good free safety in the NFL. He should be a solid first day pick in April. Player News Feed
