Josh Davis is a little older than your average NFL draft prospect, having spent one season at Fork Union Military Academy, prior to transferring to Marshall. Davis got out to an outstanding start at Marshall, setting the NCAA record for receptions as a freshman with 79 in 2001. He finished his career second on the all-time receptions list with 301 career receptions, falling just eight catches shy of the record set by Purdue’s Taylor Stubblefield this season. He isn’t the biggest or the fastest guy, but Davis has excellent hands and runs good routes. He would benefit from adding some bulk and improving his strength. He doesn’t have game-breaking speed, but he is the type of player that can be extremely valuable on 3rd down. He may never develop into a #1 wide receiver in the NFL but he could become an excellent slot receiver at the professional level. A strong workout at the combine could improve his draft stock, but at this point he looks to be a solid mid-round pick in April. Player News Feed
