Analysis
Kareem Brown started for Miami as a senior after spending his first three seasons as part of a rotation at defensive tackle. He has a good combination of size, strength, and athleticism for the position. He is strong at the point of attack and a solid run defender. He is able to penetrate the line of scrimmage and he makes a lot of plays in the backfield. He is a good pass rusher who has improved every year he has been at Miami, increasing his sack total from 5 sacks his first two years to 13 sacks his final two years. Brown does have a tendency to play too high at times which causes him to lose the leverage battle. He also has a difficult time getting off blocks of bigger, stronger offensive linemen. Though he has pretty good size, Brown does have room to get bigger. He is a good athlete, but he relies on his physical ability too often and will need to improve his technique at the next level. He is older than your average draft prospect and will be a 26 year old rookie this fall. Kareem Brown has a good deal of upside and should be a first day pick in the 2007 NFL draft. Player News Feed
