He moved to running back the next season where he rushed for 1,110 yards on 70 carries and scored 22 touchdowns during a 7-4 season. As a junior Vickers rushed for 960 yards on 89 carries and scored 17 touchdowns, helping his team to a 11-1 record. He was also named district MVP for his performance. Vickers finished his career averaging over 13 yards per carry in high school. Analysis

Lawrence Vickers is a very versatile back. In fact, Colorado named Vickers’ position the V-back (Versatility) position for his ability to play tailback, fullback, and catch the ball out of the backfield. Vickers is a dedicated player who will not be outworked. He runs hard with good power but lacks breakaway speed. He is an excellent receiver out of the backfield. He runs good routes, catches the ball away from his body and has soft hands. He also was an outstanding special teams player at Colorado and could contribute in that area as well. He is an aggressive blocker but isn't a punishing lead blocker. If you are looking for a versatile fullback that can run and catch, Vickers would be a good fit. He should be among the top fullbacks selected and a mid-round pick on draft day.
