Analysis

Manuel has played both halfback and fullback during his time at UCLA after redshirting in 2000. He doesn't have alot of experience as a fullback, having started his career as a halfback in 2001. He played both positions as a sophomore, then switched to fullback for good as a junior in 2003. He is probably the best running fullback in the draft. He lacks great speed, but he hits the hole well and has the ability to make defenders miss in the open field. He patterns his game after Eddie George and he has a similar upright running style. He is an excellent receiver out of the backfield and may be the most versatile fullback in the draft with his combination of running and receiving skills. His biggest weakness is in the lead blocking department. He was primarily used as a running fullback at UCLA and he is still very raw when it comes to blocking. He needs to work on his blocking technique and learn blocking assignments to be a complete fullback in the NFL. He should contribute immediately on special teams and has the ability to develop into a very good fullback in time. White should be one of the top fullbacks selected and a mid to late round pick in the 2005 NFL draft.
