Analysis
Marques Colston has outstanding combination of size and athleticism for an NFL receiver. He uses his body to put himself in position to make the catch and he does a good job of adjusting to the ball while it is in the air. He has good speed for a receiver his size but he isn’t a burner and he will most likely have trouble gaining separation against some of the faster defensive backs at the next level. Overall he has very good hands although he will have his moments where he drops passes he should catch. He is a tough receiver who will go over the middle and make a tough catch in traffic. He has good strength, allowing him to break tackles and gain additional yardage. Marques is a small school receiver who didn’t play against top competition in college. He needs to improve his route running to be a more complete receiver. Marques Colston is a bit of a project, but he has the size and athletic ability that scouts love to see in a receiver. He has a chance to be a late round pick in the 2006 NFL draft. Player News Feed
