A mammothly efficient and productive college quarterback, Philip Rivers has great size and good arm strength and seems to have all the markings of a solid pocket quarterback on the NFL level. Rivers has the mental abilities and overall intangibles to be a good player within a couple of seasons. His only weakness as a prospect is his clunky release, and he'll need good coaching to fix that mechanical problem. Such a problem is cause for concern, as it raises two serious questions. Firstly, by correcting his release, would Rivers become uncomfortable, and hence see his production and development lag? And secondly, if he is unable to correct his release, will it affect his NFL production at all? The answers to those questions will likely determine the success Philip Rivers enjoys over the course of his NFL career. Player News Feed
