Junior linebacker Rian "Goo" Wallace is the best prospect to come out of Temple in years. At 6-2 240 pounds, Rian has the size you look for in an NFL linebacker. He doesn’t have great pure speed, but he is very quick and can make plays all over the field. He is very good at reading and reacting to what the offense is doing and he takes good angles to the ballcarrier. He has good strength and can effectively shed blocks of opposing offensive linemen. He has been a “tackling machine� for the Owls and has a good nose for the football. He needs to improve his pass coverage ability to be a three down linebacker at the professional level. He is a player that may have some temper problems, having been suspended in the past for punching a teammate. Rian is an excellent prospect and should be a solid first day selection in April.
