Sinorice Moss is the younger brother of Washington Redskins receiver Santana Moss. Sinorice attended Carol City High School where he played football and ran track. As a receiver, Moss caught 23 passes for 506 yards and scored 8 touchdowns his senior season. He also had 2 carries for 86 yards and punted 12 times for a 29 yard average. He was a second team all-Dade selection and played in the Dade/Broward all-star game. Coming out of high school, Sinorice was one of the top receiver prospects in the state of Florida. He was recruited by LSU, North Carolina State, and Rutgers, but he opted to stay close to home and play for Miami where his brother played. During his first two seasons at Miami, Moss was primarily a special teams player and reserve receiver. He only caught 11 passes for 141 yards his first two years combined. As a junior he caught 20 passes for 351 yards and 3 touchdowns. Even though he only started four games that year, his yardage total was good enough for second best on the team. As a senior Moss finally stepped into a full-time starting position, leading the Hurricanes in every statistical category for receivers with 35 receptions, 604 yards, and 6 touchdowns.
Analysis
Sinorice Moss doesn’t have a great deal of starting experience, having only been a full-time starter for one season, with four other starts his junior year. He has outstanding speed which allows him to gain separation from defenders and makes him a threat to score every time he touches the football. He runs very good routes and is a sure handed receiver. With his excellent leadership ability and work ethic, Moss has the intangibles of a player you would want on your football team. Much like his brother, Sinorice’s biggest weakness is his size. He’s even smaller than Santana and he lacks the experience and all-American credentials the elder Moss possessed. His small stature could cause matchup problems against some of the bigger defensive backs in the NFL. He isn’t a very physical receiver and will not contribute much when it comes to blocking. Moss does have a lot of raw talent which cannot be ignored. He will get better but he doesn’t have as much upside as some of the bigger receivers in the draft do. Sinorice will probably never become a first or second receiver on an NFL team; however, he does have a chance to develop into a good slot receiver and possibly a kick returner at professional level.
