As a sophomore, Crowder started all 13 games, finishing with 47 tackles, 4 ˝ sacks, and a forced fumble on his way to honorable mention all-big twelve honors. Analysis
Tim Crowder has a ton of experience against top competition, having started the past four seasons at defensive end for the Longhorns in the big twelve. During that time he has proven to be a very durable player who rarely misses time due to injury. He is an intelligent player and a person of good character. He is a hard worker both on and off the field and he plays hard until the whistle on every down. He has a good combination of size and strength for a defensive end. He has long arms which enable him to deflect passes at the line of scrimmage. He is an excellent run defender who gets good leverage on his opponents. He makes a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage and he is a fundamentally sound tackler. He has the ability to drop back in coverage when needed and he will make plays down the field. Crowder lacks great timed speed and can be inconsistent at times, particularly as a pass rusher. He only had 8 ˝ sacks in his first three years combined at Texas. He improved in that area as a senior but has clearly been more of a force against the run during his time with the Longhorns. Tim Crowder is one of the better defensive ends available and should be selected on the first day of the 2007 NFL draft. Player News Feed
