Analysis
Tony Hunt has a good deal of experience against top competition, having started at running back the past three seasons for Penn State in the Big Ten. During that time he has proven to be a very durable back who rarely misses time due to injury. He has a good combination of size and strength for a running back. He is a powerful runner who does most of his damage between the tackles. He gets a lot of yards after initial contact and does a good job of finishing his runs. His strength allows him to run through arm tackles and he is difficult to bring down. He has soft hands and is a good receiver out of the backfield. He is also a very good blocker which is important if he is to see significant playing time early on in his NFL career. Hunt has a bit of an upright running style and he lacks the game-breaking speed you’d like to see in a running back. He won’t break many long runs and he may struggle to turn the corner at the next level. Tony Hunt is a North-South runner who rarely loses yardage. He will probably never be an elite back at the professional level, but he has proven that he can carry the load and he could develop into a solid starter in the NFL. He has a chance to be selected on the first day of the 2007 NFL draft. Player News Feed
